One week to go...

I've kinda hit a wall with revision now, it's just too boring!! Exams are now fully underway in Cam, and the whole place is very weird - very few students walking around, most people cramming a year's worth of work into a few days... This time next week I'll have done my first exam, so hopefully fingers crossed things go OK! Will let be posting to let you know how it all turns out...

The countdown...

Hey guys,

Now got less than 10 days before my first exam, but annoyingly everyone else (remember all the medics are doing different 'BA' subjects in 3rd year) seem to finish the day before I start my first exam, which just awesome!!

Luckily my exams will be over within the space of 5 days so all is not lost! revision is going slowly, and is trickier than previous years as our exams this year are all essays... hence you have to be able to remember stuff, not just recognise it (as would be the case with multi-choice questions)!

Aside from exams nothing else seems to be happening now in Cam - this is probably the worst part of the year, but in a few weeks time it'll all be over!

Exam term...

apologies since it's been a while since i've put up a post, but there's a big reason for it! 'exam term' is now in full swing in the 'bridge, and as usual is accompanied by the usual mad life of library-eat-library-sleep!

this year's exams are different for me (remember that in cam we do an obligatory BA in our 3rd year) - i'm doing natural science physiology... unlike previous years where we had a mixture of multi-choice questions (MCQs - trust me they're not as easy as they sound!), short answer questions and essays, this year the exams are all essays! this is making revision a bit more difficult as i'm not really sure what i need to know and what i don't (since we have to reference original scientific papers for a lot of our work)...! anyway, i've only got 3 weeks now before my exams, so fingers crossed things work out!

on to other matters, the weather's AMAZING now - cam gets transformed every summer (and winter) so if you fancy coming up for an open day or just to get a feel for the place, now is definitely the time!

i'll try and keep posting, and try not to talk too much about my revision (or lack of!)

back in the 'bridge

hey guys,

it's been a week since i'm back in cambridge now, and let's face it, i've just found the time to write a blog! yes it's exam term, and everyone's going revision crazy! my exams are exactly a month away, so i will try and keep you updated with what i'm doing, but i assure nothing much will be happening down here!

to briefly set out this term - most exams are over by june 14th or around then, and the following week is 'may week' which is a cam tradition when several colleges hold their 'may balls'. after this week will be graduation for us 3rd years, which i'm sure will be a day we won't forget! and after that... well time for a break!

hopefully everything is going well with any med school applications or exams you all are currently taking, i'll be writing a few more posts soon!
