less than 2 weeks to go!

hey guys,

sorry for the delay in writing this blog, you'll understand why!! instead of revision, i'll talk about what else i've been up to!!

the mayball is coming together quite nicely... we're still pushing our sales though, so we get as many people there as possible! as head of security, i haven't really got much to do apart from sorting out pro security, fencing and wristbands! i've got most of the stuff sorted now, so i can concentrate on the small matter of exams and ignore the ball preps until afterwards!

as pres of our college medical society, i also organise the various medic events each year. after the exams we have the annual medsoc dinner, which is a 5-course, black-tie event with champagne reception, etc etc which should be good fun! most of that is all booked now, but i'm looking to get a bit more sponsorship so that we can subsidise the tickets for the undergrads a bit more.

as vice-pres of the university medsoc (confusing i know) we hold a medsoc garden party after the exams which is your typical cambridge strawberries and cream, with pimms event! most of the details for that have also been sorted out, but in addition to the garden party we also hold a intercollegiate medsoc 5-a-side footy competition, which is always a good laugh. last year the robinson medics made it to the final, only to lose 1-0 to johns... hoping that this year we can rectify that situation...

that's all i've got to say for the time being - i'm off to quickly sort out some mayball stuff, delaying doing work for as long as possible!

sorry for the delay in writing this blog - i went home this weekend so wasn't able to get it done. decided i needed a break from it all so took this weekend off to go home and relax for a bit. was good to just veg out having been working for like the past month!

i've got a revision session this morning for my neuro and human repro practical exams. all the 4 main subjects (neuro, pharm, path and repro) all have the typical tripos set-up where section I is usually multi-choice questions (MCQs), section II is the practical paper (usually written) and section III is the essays... (!)

you may think that MCQs will be easy, but actually they require you to know the various topics inside out, else you can get put off by some very 'luring' statements! in pharm and path we have multiple true/false style questions, where you're given a topic, and then have to put T/F for the list of statements that follows. just for laughs they also negatively mark it, so you get +1 for every right response, 0 if you leave it blank, and -1 if you get it wrong!

got less than 3 weeks now before my exams but my revision list seems to be getting bigger every day! i will hopefully keep up with the blogs next week!

a quick blog!

Guys,

Unfortunately I'm fast running out of time and am hurriedly typing this blog whilst sorting out some Mayball work. Exams are looming up (within a month now) so things are becoming a bit stressful! Haven't got much to say apart from the fact that the weather's gorgeous but I'm stuck indoors revising! Will try and keep up-to-date with the blogs, sorry for the short blog!
