holidays!
hey guys,
sorry for the long gap since the last post! it's been a while, but i'll quickly sum up what i've been upto since the hols started for me in june...
the may balls were amazing, really good fun, but 'may week' went by all too quickly, which was little consolation for the months of stress i'd been through before exams!! however i passed all my exams which was a huuuuuge relief, no resits (!) so sit back and enjoy the summer!
went home for a bit, and caught up with some of my old school buddies which is always good, and then headed off last week to nott'm for medsim! not sure if any of this year's medsim guys are reading this post, but you'll probably remember me as either the breast guy, the ecg guy or the fitting guy (or you might not remember me, esp if i bored you to death)! hope you guys enjoyed the called
i only did two medsims this time - i'm back home now because i'm off to romania the day after tomorrow. i'll be teaching english in bucharest as part of a free course run for practically anyone looking to improve their english, so we get a good mix of students, mostly around my age, but the odd 50 yr old too i've been told!
i'll be out for 7 weeks, so a bit nervous, but i'm sure it'll be good fun. i will try and put up a few posts whilst i'm away just to keep you updated...
next year (academically) i'll be doing part II (the 3rd year of the cambridge tripos system), and i've chosen to do physiology as my subject. this is essentially the equivalent to the intercalated BSc you get at a lot of other med schools, except we do a BA. the advantage over oxford (sorry guys, had to put this in!) is that you can choose practically any subject to do as your part II, from english to law, whilst in oxford you only get a choice of 5 medically-related subjects, if i'm not mistaken.
anyway, i'll be back home in early september, so will try and get the blogs up and running then. hope you guys enjoy the summer!
kief :)
